Fall 2025

Regent

Brothers,

The Fall 2025 semester was another solid semester in the history of Beta chapter. While we fell just short of the Schrader Award at the National Convention in July of last summer, we are not going to let that discourage us. We will continue on the right path to achieve more points year over year until we accomplish our goal. Even though we didn’t win the Schrader award, we are still one of the top chapters in the country and it is something that every brother active or alumni should be proud of.

During the semester we welcomed nine new members into the chapter and at the end we celebrated the graduation of two brothers: Kyler Esselink, graduating with a BS in Materials Science Engineering and Nick Merrit, graduating with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. That brings us to a total of 40 active members for the spring 2026 semester. With 3 brothers set to graduate in the spring, we anticipate continuing our streak of steady growth.

We are especially excited to celebrate a major milestone this summer, Beta’s 120th anniversary. This will be a great opportunity to honor our history, reconnect with alumni, and celebrate Beta’s continuing legacy at Michigan Tech, we will be celebrating at the chapter house in Houghton.

As always, staying connected with our alumni remains one of our highest priorities. We have been working on a project to try to build a family tree of the house going back as far as we can, so please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your support, advice, and involvement are incredibly important to us. Call the house phone at (906) 523-7027 or reach out to me at (608) 421-9251.

Vice Regent

Brothers,

It is my honor to announce a very successful fall pledge class, with nine new members entering the fold. We are exuberant for almost reaching the previous year’s number and look forward to recruiting additional members in the spring. These pledges have shown tremendous enthusiasm regarding respect for our house and the brotherhood, I believe they will make great additions to Theta Tau. With these recent initiates we have brought our numbers to forty four total, the largest our numbers have been in a long time. We have been striving to build our base back within the community here at Michigan Tech and while it has taken some time the work is finally paying off. We have ensured our new members display character qualities of leadership and determination, just as every Theta Tau should, and because of this our chapters The future at Michigan Tech is looking brighter than ever.

Rush

Brothers,

Hope you are doing well

This past semester we had a very successful rush period.  Before rush started throughout orientation week the brothers were active outside playing volleyball, cornhole, and other yard games, which generated a lot of interest from the incoming class. During rush we held 8 total events such as kickball, euchre, beach day, and more, with great attendance for each rush event that we hosted. There were a total of 10 bids given out and from this we were able to bring in 9 new members into our brotherhood and tradition. We are confident that they will be strong representations of what an H&T is.
